About the Intiative
The Institutional Access Initiative is an independent research and policy-focused project examining how educational systems, public institutions, and informational barriers shape opportunity, participation, and access across different communities.
Originally developed through research conducted in the Binghamton University Libraries Research Scholars Program, the initiative focuses on issues related to educational equity, institutional inequality, civic participation, public systems, and public policy. Through ongoing research, analysis, and public-facing resources, the project aims to encourage greater understanding of institutional access and the structural barriers that affect individuals and communities across the United States.
